Indeed, Kloster has always been an extraordinary man, one far ahead of his time, evidenced by his groundbreaking business strategies and his lifelong commitment to the global concerns of our generation. Endorsed by former President Finnbogadottir of Iceland (1980 to 1996), the first elected female president in the world, Stephan Schmidheiny, founder and honorary chairman of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and Helen Delich Bentley, former chairman of the United States Federal Maritime Commission and former 5-term member of the U.S. House of Representatives, “True North” not only educates readers about socially responsible enterprises that value all stakeholders through the life of Kloster, but it also restores our connection with and faith in civilization.
About the Author
As a director and officer of World City Foundation, Inc., Gallagher has collaborated with Knut Utstein Kloster and the late chairman and CEO John S. Rogers at World City America, Inc., in order to write “True North,” her first official publication. Gallagher was also involved in the Phoenix project (outlined in chapter four, Come, Let Us Build Us a City) and the American Flagship project (outlined in chapter five, Hands across the Sea). Furthermore, she worked with Kloster and Rogers on the GAIA to Rio project (outlined in chapter six, Listening to Gaia). Gallagher has been married to Charles Gallagher for more than 40 years, and they currently live with their Lhasa Apso, Treasure, in Pelham Manor, N.Y., a short commute to Manhattan, where the World City Foundation’s offices are located. She also has three grown stepchildren named Blake, Megan and Peter.
