Real-time duplicate prevention program available on the AppExchange

Toronto, ON, June 29, 2009 — Until now, Salesforce CRM users had few options for eliminating the problem of entering duplicate leads, accounts and contacts in Salesforce. With today’s release of CRMfusion Inc.’s DupeBlocker 2.0 (http://www.crmfusion.com/DupeBlocker) on the Salesforce AppExchange, there is finally a way to prevent duplicate records in real time — and if that weren’t enough, it is enterprise-capable and fully integrated with the Force.com platform.

Designed to complement CRMfusion’s existing Salesforce data quality tools, DemandTools and PeopleImport, DupeBlocker 2.0 stops users from creating duplicate records in the first place. The system installs directly into Salesforce via the AppExchange and works from within the Salesforce interface.

Once installed, DupeBlocker 2.0 allows administrators to create custom duplicate searching scenarios based on any fields, including custom fields, and define the system’s actions when finding exact duplicate or possible duplicate records; those actions can include blocking the duplicate completely, allowing the duplicate to be added but displaying a warning message, or merging the records together but allowing the user to control which fields are used from the two records.

Although DupeBlocker can be completely customized, the tool also comes with pre-defined scenarios built on the same matching algorithms CRMfusion’s DemandTools uses to match mismatched data.

“Until now, deduplication tools had to run batches of data after it had already been entered, causing unnecessary work for Salesforce users and running the risk of leaving duplicate records in the system,” stated Mark Esdale, vice president of business development for CRMfusion. “But DupeBlocker 2.0 prevents those duplicate records from ever being entered into Salesforce.
