Featured by Apple as an “Essential App for Black Friday” Mall Maps uses the GPS location function of your iPhone to inform users of malls near your current location. Or a user can browse by city/state, zip code and even a list of all 50 states. The app contains store listings and actual floor plans for malls all across the country.
“It’s been wonderful hearing how people have been using Mall Maps,” said Shayne Faerber, the app’s creator. “I’ve gotten hundreds of emails including one from a blind man who used the app to find new stores in his area.”
Faerber, who spent seven months compiling the hundred-thousand-plus data points in the app, continues to add new malls every day. “I read the reviews on the App Store,” said Shayne. “If someone said that their mall wasn’t in the app - I get in touch with them and add it.”
The app is also a boon to the millions of shoppers who are traveling this holiday season to parts unknown or unfamiliar. “This app is incredibly useful for people away from home who need to run out to the mall but don’t know where it is, what stores are there, or where to park when they get there,” said Dave Swartz, MEDL Mobile Co-Founder. “Mall Maps gives you all that at the touch of a button.”
With Mall Maps you see the mall’s store listing along with location codes to easily find on the floor plan map, which is loaded within the app. You can even visit the mall’s website from within Mall Maps to view any special deals and limited time sales.
