Toy Fair NYC does not officially start until Sunday February 12, 2012 – but there is already plenty of playing going on in NYC. On Thursday, Dad Does attended a media event being held by Jakks Pacific to launch their new line of Monsuno Toys.

Monsuno is a new animated series that will air on Nick Toons starting on February 23, 2012. The show is about Monsuno monsters, kids and battles – a formula that has proven to be successful with 5-10 year old boys. Based on the small preview that Dad Does saw, the cartoon looks to be interesting and well done.

The Monsuno line of toys is vast. In general, the idea of the Monsuno toys is to battle, similar to Pokemon, Bakegun or Beyblades. There are Monsuno cores and Monsuno transforming action figures. You spin the cores with just a flick of your finger and when two cores collide, the action figure inside the core may come popping out.
