Though many people believe that religion is a means to understanding God better, some argue that the existence of so many different religions creates too many varying opinions among people, blurring the true nature of God and inhibiting a closer relationship with God. In this way, religion itself becomes a barrier, not only between the human and the divine, but also between humans.
After a life spent professionally dedicated to the study of chemical processes, author Hettich is well versed in the way that people are interrelated within their environments for life. He has set out in this book to apply some of his professional experience to presenting how God relates to those human realities. In turn, he offers hope for unifying humankind’s underlying incompatibility with an eye toward peace and harmony.
The book comprises 15 essays in which the author grapples with complex issues that have dogged humans since the beginning of time. The first six essays offer a concept of God that is different from most religious beliefs and reconsiders the relationship between God and humans. The next eight essays present the diversities of human behavior, both good and bad. In the last essay, Hettich offers a hopeful outlook on how humans may find unity and peace in the spirit for God.
