Spanning over 400 acres of lush, unspoiled tropics, the ultra-private Isla Palenque sits tucked in the Gulf of Chiriqui on the south side of Panama. Over the next several years, Amble Resorts will be building both a top-tier resort hotel and a string of vacation homes along the shores of this pristine island.
The first phase of development is scheduled for completion sometime in late 2011 or early 2012, and will include a 30-key boutique hotel and approximately 50 oceanfront homes. Preconstruction sales will begin in January 2010, and Amble plans to break ground on the project soon after that. When all construction phases are complete, Amble will have built upon less than 5 percent of the island, maintaining nearly all of its natural habitats, ecosystems, and panoramic views.
“We chose a secluded island in Panama for this project because the country is poised to emerge as one of the foremost vacation destinations in the world,” says Benjamin Loomis, President of Amble Resorts. “Especially for trend-setting adventure travelers looking for a unique and meaningful vacation experience and global investors attracted to the growth potential in Panama real estate.”
Loomis added, “By combining unparalleled luxury with the most up-to-date techniques in sustainability, we are creating not only an environmentally friendly, adventure-centric resort, but also a distinctive set of comfortable, graceful homes - far removed from the bustling of the typical tourist crowds.”
Like the resort, the homes will mesh exceptional design and high-end comfort with the untamed aesthetics of the surrounding tropical forests. Both residents and visitors will have access to miles of immaculate beaches, adventure activities like the area’s world-renowned sport fishing, and the private resort staff. Initial plans include an isolated 220-acre nature preserve, over five miles of breathtaking coastal trails, an organic farm which will supply much of the resort’s produce, a small marina, and a long list of amenities: a full-service spa, multiple restaurants, elegant bars, several pools, an activity and adventure center, an eclectic selection of boutiques, and more.
